EAST WINDSOR, NJ — An East Windsor man who works as a teacher at the Shalom Torah Academy in Monmouth County has been charged with child sexual assault, authorities said on Friday.
Rabbi Menachem A. Chinn, 36, was arrested Thursday night at the East Windsor Township Police Department.
He was charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of sexual assault in connection with an incident that happened in his home in 2012.
Chinn is accused of inappropriately touching a 12-year-old boy.
East Windsor Police were recently made aware of the allegations, and initiated a joint investigation with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, according to Police Chief James A. Geary and Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Doris M. Galuchie.
A detention hearing is pending, and the investigation is ongoing.
