A “private video” allegedly involving a high-ranking university employee and a student having sex is rocking a university in Louisiana and school officials are now investigating whether a cybercrime was committed.
The video of a man and a woman having sex was posted to a pornographic website but has since been removed. Officials at Southern University in Baton Rouge believe the video may have been posted maliciously, suggesting that a crime may have taken place, WBRZ reports.
“Because of implications that a cyber-crime may have occurred, we take matters like this very seriously,” university officials said in a statement. “ … We advise and caution our students and employees on the importance of data security as well as the ramifications of their conduct on social media. We will continue to take every measure to ensure that our students and staff understand that we want to ensure their safety and well-being both on campus and online.”
The university declined to elaborate on the employment status of the man and woman seen in the video. WBRZ declined to identify them late Tuesday.
Calls seeking additional comment from university spokesman Henry Tillman were not immediately returned on Wednesday.
A source told WAFB that the video involves a high-profile staff member at the university, but a spokesman declined to comment on personnel matters due to privacy concerns.
