Monroe, NY – Hoping for help from the public, police have released a sketch of a man wanted in connection with a Tuesday holdup at a Monroe store selling fresh fruit arrangements.
New York State Police at Monroe are investigating the incident, which took place this past Tuesday at 7 PM at Edible Arrangements on Larkin Drive.
Police said that the man walked into the store at 7 PM and, instead of ordering a bouquet of freshly cut fruit, pulled out a gun and demanded money.
The suspect is described as a white male, with a muscular build and estimated to be in his thirties.
At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a dark jacket, dark pants, dark blue sneakers and a light colored baseball cap.
Police said that he fled the store with an undetermined amount of cash and headed in an unknown direction.
While some of the 1,200 Edible Arrangements stores located throughout the United States have kosher certification, the Monroe store does not have rabbinical supervision.
The store which is located in the Harriman Commons shopping center, is a short distance from both Kiryas Joel and the Woodbury Common outlet mall.
An employee at the Monroe Edible Arrangements declined to comment on the story.
