Rockland County, NY – Ramapo police are investigating two separate incidents in the Monsey area, with two Orthodox Jewish women attacked in their driveways.
Police said that the first incident took place on November 1st when a young woman was coming home in the evening and was attacked from behind by an unknown man in her driveway on Carmen Court in Chestnut Ridge.
The second incident took place in Monsey on November 3rd when a woman who was returning home from a wedding got out of her car in her Olympia Lane driveway.
The woman’s husband told TOT News that his wife was attacked from behind by a man who covered her mouth and grabbed her, holding her on the ground and putting some type of chemical on her face. Nothing was taken from the woman, who was not seriously injured, and the attacker fled the area.
Homeowners in the area spotted members of the Ramapo Police Department canvassing the area with flashlights and police cars after the Thursday night after attack took place.
Both attacks took place between 8:30 and 10 PM and police said that both women may have been followed home by their attackers.
Police said that they cannot say if the two attacks are related.
Both incidents are currently under investigation by the Ramapo Police Department’s detective division with assistance from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department.
