A 42-year-old federal U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent fatally shot himself in the head in an apparent suicide at Pier 40 in Manhattan Friday, police sources said.
The man, whose identity was not immediately released, shot himself with his service weapon, sources said.
He was found on West Street and Clarkson Street near Hudson River Park at around 11:30 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his head, according to cops.
Emergency responders rushed the man to Lenox Hill Hospital in critical condition, but doctors were unable to save him.
