A beloved pediatrician was stabbed to death in the shower of her multimillion-dollar Westchester home Wednesday — and her husband has been busted for the crime, law-enforcement sources told The Post.
Dr. Robin Goldman, 58, was attacked at about 10 a.m. in the 5,700-square-foot, $3.4 million home on Lincoln Road in Scarsdale’s exclusive Heathcoate neighborhood.
Jules Reich, 61, called 911, and arriving cops found his wife’s blood-soaked body.
Reich, who sources said had sustained “defensive wounds,” was taken into custody at the scene, police said.
He was brought to a Scarsdale court early Thursday, where he was set to be charged with murder, sources told The Post.
Reich is a lawyer and CPA for WeiserMazars in Hamilton Heights, where co-workers declined to comment on the case.
His wife worked at Montefiore Medical Center in The Bronx.
The victim’s distraught son, Adam Reich, described his mother as a wonderful woman.
“She was great, a great person, amazing,” he told The Post before being overcome with emotion.
Scarsdale cops said Wednesday afternoon that the murder appeared to be intentional.
“This is not a random act,” Scarsdale Police Capt. Thomas Altizio said. “This was an isolated incident.”
Kassim Ray, a security guard at Montefiore, was stunned to hear the news.
“Dr. Goldman was murdered? Oh, my God, this is horrible! I’m completely shocked. She was a very pleasant lady. She always smiled and said hello to everyone. Nobody ever said or felt anything bad about her. Not with that smile,” he said.
Goldman, he said, was popular among the hospital’s staff, from top doctors and administrators to hourly workers.
“A lady of that stature? Who would want to do that to her?” Ray wondered. “I’ve worked here for three years and she was always very nice to me.
“I need to spread this news. Her dying is really going to bring pain to a lot of people.”
Neighbors reached by phone said they knew little of the crime or the couple.
According to his company’s Web site, Reich “has more than 20 years of experience as a leader in corporate consulting — advising corporations, start-ups, venture-capital and private-equity firms.”
He earned a law degree from NYU, a Juris Doctorate from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and a BA in accounting from Brooklyn College.
He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the New York State Bar Association.
Reich had petitioned for divorce in August 2015 but the matter had not been resolved, The Journal News reported.
Goldman’s death is the first homicide in Scarsdale since 1977, when Yale University senior Bonnie Garland was bludgeoned to death at her home by her ex-boyfriend, Yale grad Richard Herrin, the newspaper said.
Westchster County Police Chaplain, Rabbi Jeremy Reichberg and Misaskim are working to ensure proper Kavod HaNifteres is given.
Misaskim thanked the Westchester Police Commissioner George Longworth, and the Westchester County Crime Scene Unit for their sensitivity.
