Rockland County, NY – Two Westchester County 17 year-olds were sentenced to five years probation and given youthful offender status by a Rockland County judge despite pleading guilty in May to felony hate crime charges after they went on an anti-Semitic hate-spree at the Palisades Center in West Nyack on Black Friday in November.
LOHUD.com reports that the sentence handed down by Rockland County Judge Rolf Thorsen effectively seals the records of Chris Bujaj of Tuckahoe and Ardijan Mehaj of Yonkers, both 17.
A third man, 18 year-old Florend Gjevukaj of Yonkers, has a date for sentencing set for December.
All three were initially charged with assault after they ran through the Palisades Mall on Black Friday shoving and pushing customers, but the charges were increased to hate crimes after it was revealed they screamed anti-Semitic rhetoric like “dirty Jew” at two Orthodox Jewish men during their spree.
