Monroe, NY – The New York State Police in Monroe arrested Bergin Perez, age 23, of Monroe, NY on Saturday, August 8, 2015, for Burglary in the Second Degree (felony).
According to police, after a night of drinking at a bar in Newburgh, Perez, who lives in the Village of Kiryas Joel, allegedly entered numerous residences in Kiryas Joel on Getzel Berger Blvd and Israel Zupnich Drive and in several instances accosted residents who were sleeping.
The incidents all occurred around 5:30 am on Saturday morning.
Police said he was additionally charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing for allegedly trying to choke a woman who had woken up while he was in her residence.
Perez was arraigned in the Town of Monroe Court and remanded to Orange County Jail on $25,000.00 bail.
