Volunteers of the ‘Hashomrim’ organization in Bnei Brak were called this morning (Monday) following a report to the organization’s hotline about a woman being assaulted by an Arab in the Vizhnitz housing complex.
The volunteers who arrived at the scene took testimony from the woman who told them that she got stuck in the elevator and after getting out of it, the suspect attacked her – pinning her to the wall.
The suspect was identified as he fled into a construction site near the location of the attack. After a short search, he was detained by the volunteers until police arrived.
The suspect, a PA resident of Shechem (Nablus) in his 30s, was taken in for further questioning. A police spokesman said that the suspect is is known to them for previous crimes.
