Israeli model Shlomit Malka, who was seriously injured last Sunday in an scooter accident in Tel Aviv, has returned to normal functioning.
Ynet reported meeting the model today, Sunday, in the early-morning hours, taking a stroll with her two dogs through the streets of Tel Aviv.
23-year-old Malka was injured after she fell from an electric scooter on Rothschild Boulevard in Tel Aviv.
Malka was initially listed in critical condition, though her condition was later downgraded to serious.
Describing the scene of the accident, MDA paramedic Ya’arit Oren said: “When we got to the scene, we saw a young woman of about 23 lying on the side of the road.
She lay unconscious, suffering from a head injury and injuries to her extremities, and next to her we saw an electric scooter.
We gave her life-saving medical treatment, including medication and anesthesia, and we urgently evacuated to the hospital while her condition was defined as critical and unstable.”
Later, however, Malka regained consciousness began to communicate with relatives and hospital officials.
Dr. Adi Nimrod, who heads Ichilov Hospital’s intensive care unit where Malka was being held, said on Monday that Malka had shown “significant improvement.”
“This morning we were able to wake her up, and she is now fully conscious, breathing on her own, and communicating with the medical staff, and relatives who are at her side.
Shlomit’s condition is now considered light, and she is expected to be released from the intensive care unit later today.”
