A tattooed torso that washed up in Brooklyn last week appears to belongs to a 31-year-old New Jersey bar manager whose blood was found in her boyfriend’s bathtub, according to police and other reports.
Cops believe that the dismembered body is that of Jennifer Londono, 31, of Englewood who has been missing since June 25, according to a police source. DNA tests are being performed.
Police have been questioning the woman’s boyfriend, sources said. So far, there have been “inconsistencies” in his story, according to a source.
Londono had a Sanskrit tattoo inked on her torso which read “Lily” or “Lilyann” to honor her dead aunt, according to police.
Brooklyn police released an image of the body’s tattoo earlier this week, seeking tips about her identification. Londono’s mom told cops that her daughter’s tattoo matches the one found on the body.
Londono managed the new Luna Lounge on Armory Street and was last seen closing the bar, sources said.
Marcela Toro, 32, a longtime friend of Londono, was devastated Monday.
“I am heartbroken, that’s all I can say,” Toro said.
Toro said she saw London’s tattoo several times because they “shared clothes.”
“She was a loving, sweet person, she had no problems with anybody, she had a lot of friends. Everyone loved her, we still don’t understand why someone would do that to her,” Toro said.
The torso — which was cut off from its waist to its knees — was found by a couple walking their dog in the Red Hook Channel last Tuesday, police said.
A leg believed to belong to the torso then washed up Saturday off the Upper West Side.
Cops are searching for the rest of the body, police said Monday.
