United had to cancel a flight to Italy when terrified passengers saw fuel gushing out of the wing of their plane just before take-off.
Fliers say they spotted the gas jet juice gushing from the wing while taxing on the runway Tuesday night, then sprinted to inform oblivious crew members just in time before the Venice-bound jet took off.

“How not one crew member saw this is beyond me. Thank god we were lookin out the window at take off,” passenger Rachel tweeted alongside footage of fuel flowing out of the wing.
Rachel also tweeted that her husband dashed to the back of the plane when they spotted the leak to alert staff, who had “no idea.”
It still isn’t clear what caused the spill, Pix 11 reports.
The passengers of the aborted Flight 170, which had been was scheduled to depart for Venice at 6:55 p.m., were instead put up in a hotel overnight so they could get a new flight Wednesday, according to the news channel.
