Two employees of the Shin Bet security service were charged Monday with allegedly stealing public funds and forgery.
The Shin Bet commented that both are junior in rank, and had been employed in administration and finance.
The issue was discovered during an internal audit that revealed financial irregularities and deviation from procedures.
When suspicions against the two firmed up, the information was given to the Justice Ministry division that investigates police malfeasance.
The prosecution has asked that both suspects remain incarcerated throughout the proceedings.
