An NYPD officer used a stun gun on a pregnant teen.
Dailene Rosario, 17, admitted that she was not cooperating with police officers on the fourth floor of her apartment building.
“I was resisting them because I didn’t do anything wrong,” said Dailene, who is 14 weeks pregnant.
According to Dailene, an officer fired a Taser into her side after she informed the police that she was pregnant.
“It’s like your whole stomach, and your whole side are on fire,” the teen recalled.
Dailene’s family said that police were actually answering a different call, but ended up on their floor because Dailene’s boyfriend was fighting with her sister’s boyfriend over a video game.
By the time the cops got to the scene, according to the family, Dailene’s boyfriend was gone and she was having an argument with her sister’s boyfriend.
The cops called for more officers after Dailene’s sister refused to let them in without a warrant.
Dailene recalled what happened next: “The officer said, ‘Oh, since you’re refusing,’ he grabbed my arm and I got pulled into the crowd of cops.”
Dailene’s family said that the police broke down the front door and placed the sister’s boyfriend under arrest.
According to the NYPD, Dailene was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct.
Dailene suffered some bruises, and her family wants her to sue the police.
In another controversial NYPD video that surfaced on Feb. 8, an officer was filmed enjoying a cigar as he kneeled over an unidentified person who appeared to be unconscious.
According to The Free Thought Project, which flagged the footage, NYPD officers are not allowed to smoke while in uniform.
The brief video shows the officer handing what appears to be an oxygen mask to a second officer, and then taking a puff of the cigar.
The second officer places the mask over the face of the unconscious person as other officers watch.
The Free Thought Project contacted the NYPD, which said it plans to look into the video.
