A man driving a gold Cadillac Escalade threatened to shoot a crossing guard after making anti-Semitic comments outside of an all-girls elementary school in Brooklyn, police said Wednesday.
The man was driving his Escalade in Crown Heights around 3:40 p.m. Monday when he stopped in a crosswalk outside of the Beth Rivkah Elementary School on Lefferts Ave. near Brooklyn Ave., cops said.
When Joseph Charles, 55, a crossing guard at the school asked him to move, the driver lowered his window, brandished a gun and said, “Why are you protecting the Jewish girls? I’ll shoot you both.”
The motorist then drove away, police said. It is not clear what prompted the anti-Semitic threat.
Police describe the suspect as black and between the ages of 40 and 50.
