French authorities reportedly rounded up at least 16 people suspected in the brazen Kim Kardashian heist that left the reality star bound and gagged at gunpoint last year in Paris.
The suspected thieves were busted during sweeping 6 a.m. raids conducted by the Paris Bandit Brigade early Monday in Paris, Rouen and Grasse. No one has been formally charged in the Oct. 3 robbery, according to Europe 1.
Mask-wearing men barged into Kardashian’s room at a posh hotel demanding at least $10 million worth of jewelry, including the famed diamond ring from Kanye West she showed off on social media.
The 36-year-old mother of two was tied up, gagged and thrown into a bathtub as the men rifled through her room.
A clumsy suspect dropped a diamond pendant while fleeing the hotel holdup on bicycles. A bystander found the flashy accessory in the street and turned it into police hours after the robbery.
A police source told Agence France Presse a DNA sample recovered at the crime scene was linked to a prolific robber known to authorities.
The suspects can be held for at least 96 hours. In New York, Kardashian is expected to identify the suspects in a lineup presented through a video feed, according to a LCI report.
A spokesperson for Kardashian did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Kardashian recalled the traumatic robbery on an upcoming episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
She feared the armed men were going to kill her.
“They’re going to shoot me in the back there’s no way out,” she tearfully told her sisters in a clip expected to air in March. “It makes me so upset to think about it.”
The robbery was one of two high-profile troubles to plague the Kardashian clan in 2016.
Kardashian’s rapper husband, Kanye West, was hospitalized on a psychiatric hold in Los Angeles after nixing his Saint Pablo tour in November.
