Esteban Santiago has been identified as the gunman who killed five people and wounded eight others at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Santiago is a 26-year-old U.S. citizen, born in New Jersey, Fox News reported.
A law enforcement source additionally told the outlet the suspect had a concealed carry permit and a Florida driver’s license.

Florida Senator Bill Nelson told MSNBC that Santiago had a military ID on him. According to the new station, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2016.
The airport on Friday tweeted that there was an “ongoing incident” in a Delta Air Lines baggage claim area and authorities arrived on the scene around 1 p.m.
Santiago, who a witness said was wearing a “Star Wars” T-shirt, randomly began shooting at people at the Florida airport, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s office.
Law enforcement officials have yet to determine a motive for the attack and believe Santiago acted alone.
“We have no evidence at this time that he was acting with anyone else,” Broward County Mayor Barbara Sharief told CNN.
“He is currently in custody and we’re investigating.”
Services at the airport were immediately suspended, leaving thousands of flights out of the area delayed or diverted.
