Kanye West is reportedly under psychiatric evaluation at UCLA Medical Center after a string of odd behavior, mid-concert rants and an abrupt cancellation of his “Saint Pablo Tour.”
The rapper was being examined for severe sleep deprivation before paramedics were called Monday afternoon when he was ‘acting erratically,’according to TMZ.
Sources told NBC News that West, 39, was hospitalized “for his own health and safety.”
West initially opposed going to the hospital before being convinced, and was handcuffed to the gurney while being transported, TMZ reported.

The LAPD classified the case a “medical emergency” and handed it off to the Los Angeles Fire Department, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The “Famous” artist canceled the remainder of his “Saint Pablo Tour” following recent bizarre rants and antics at recent shows. He had 21 concerts remaining on the North American leg of his sprawling tour, which he extended a few weeks ago beyond its original Nov. 2 end date.
“Tickets will be fully refunded at point of purchase,” the rep told Pitchfork.
Exhaustion played a major role in West’s decision to nix the remainder of his gigs, a source told TMZ.
“He’s just exhausted,” the insider told the gossip site. “He’s been working around the clock on fashion design, both his own line and the Adidas line.”
The source added that the harrowing robbery of West’s wife Kim Kardashian in Paris last month also took its toll on the rapper.
“All the time spent away from his family has been a stress on him as well,” the insider told TMZ. “They are most important to him.”
The surprising cancelation comes less than a week after West, 39, was booed at his San Jose, Calif., gig for telling the audience he would’ve voted for Donald Trump in the presidential election earlier this month, had he actually cast a ballot.
He followed that up two days later by unleashing a fuming tirade about Beyoncé and Jay Z at a Sacramento show, eventually leaving early despite performing just three songs.
“Get ready to have a field day, press, because the show’s over,” he declared at the concert.
West then canceled his concert the following night in Inglewood, Calif., a few hours before he was set to take the stage.
