A Orthodox Jewish pregnant woman got a high-flying assist from the NYPD when she went into “the early stages of birth” on a charter fishing boat Wednesday afternoon.
The 65-foot boat had traveled about two miles south of Riis Park in Queens when cops got a call for assistance just before 3 p.m., police said.
Authorities dispatched two helicopters and lowered an Emergency Medical Unit medic from the air onto the boat to help the woman.
An NYPD Harbor Unit boat also pulled alongside the fishing vessel, and the woman and her family got onboard and were taken back to land.
Emergency personnel then took her to Maimonides Medical Center in Borough Park, Brooklyn.
As of late Wednesday, the woman had not given birth to the baby who will be her eighth child.
