The family of slain Queens jogger Karina Vetrano is retracing her final footsteps Tuesday evening to mark the two weeks since her as-yet unsolved rape and murder.
In an online message, grieving dad Phil Vetrano urged supporters to join him “along the trail of tears” in Howard Beach.
“2 weeks ago today started out like any other day. I love you daddy , c u later. You 2 baby have a great day at work. A few short hrs later my life would forever change,” Vetrano wrote on the GoFundMe website.
Vetrano, a retired city firefighter, said the 6 p.m. event would be “the first of many events to honor Karinas life. Please attend.”
Last week, Vetrano made an emotional appeal for donations to boost the official rewards for information in the case, which currently total $25,000.
As of late Tuesday afternoon, more than $245,000 had poured in from 3,600-plus contributors.
On Aug. 2, Karina Vetrano, 30, failed to return from a run in Spring Creek Park near her family’s home.
Her father usually went with her, but was sidelined by a back injury.
He found her bruised and battered body while searching with cops about four hours later.
Authorities have said Karina Vetrano valiantly fought back against an attacker who knocked out one of her teeth and raped and strangled her before escaping.
Cops suspect she was attacked by a stranger, sources have said.
