A man was shot at 49th Street and Eighth Avenue on Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The circumstances of the 8:30 a.m. shooting were not immediately clear. Witnesses reported that a police officer may have shot the person multiple times.
A white sheet was seen covering what apparently was a body at the intersection.
Paramedics were at the scene, which was swarming with police.
