New York – A special report produced by WNYC Radio in conjunction with The Daily News shines the media spotlight on Williamsburg which has one of the highest concentrations of Section 8 housing in New York City.
The report, paid for at least in part by a grant from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism’s Urban Reporting Program, notes that organized efforts within the Chasidic community have been extremely successful, helping the many who live below the federal poverty line secure one of the highly coveted Section 8 vouchers that give them access to subsidized housing.
