Brooklyn, NY – Less than one day after a local woman was sexually assaulted on the outer edge of Borough Park, the NYPD is turning to the public for assistance in locating a suspect whose picture was captured by surveillance cameras.
The incident took place in the area of 50th Street and 8th Avenue at 11:45 PM Saturday night.
Police told TOT News that the suspect approached the 29 year old female victim in the lobby of her apartment building and held a knife to her throat before touching her, removing some of her clothing and sexually assaulting her.
The suspect, who is described as a light skinned male, 5’9” to 5’10”, with a slim build and dressed in a dark hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, fled the scene after the assault.
EMS responded to the scene and took the victim to a local hospital where she was released in stable condition.
The NYPD is cautioning all residents to exercise vigilance and to be aware of their surroundings at all times.
