Supermodel Naomi Campbell will visit Israel next month to attend a conference marking International Women’s Day.
The “Women Leading Change” conference will be held on March 8 at the Peres Center for Peace in Jaffa. Former president Shimon Peres will be the guest of honor at the conference.
The conference will center on women who are trailblazers in different fields in Israeli society, including hi-tech, education, technology, ect.
Campbell, considered the most successful black models in history, decided to attend the conference so she could hear about the work of the Peres Center for Peace as well as help put the international spotlight on these extraordinary women.
Campbell will receive a “Woman Leading Change” award at the conference for her social and philanthropic work in recent years.
This would not be Campbell’s first time in the Holy Land. She visited Israel in 2012 to celebrate her birthday. She visited the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, as well as the Western Wall.
“I’m happy to be here. Weapons and war, greed and oil … I hope it all stops. I care about health, about good vibrations, not destruction,” she told a Palestinian TV station at the time.
