Chairman of the Yisrael Beytenu party, Avigdor Liberman, recently received threats via Facebook.
Channel 2 reported that the messages included attack threats against Lieberman and against Israel in general.
The threats contained photos of armed Palestinian and messages favoring jihad, including a reference to the attack on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv with intentions of terror organizations executing more attacks.
One message read: “We will conduct more acts of terrorism and suicide in the 1948 occupied area (i.e. within the “Green Line” – ed.). We will stab you, shoot you, and avenge all the martyrs. Tomorrow or the next day we will perform two attacks in the occupied territory.”
The threat continued to personally reference Liberman: “You are our target. Your death is close, you son of a Jew. We will carry out an attack like in Duma and Tel Aviv, either tomorrow or the day after, but we will not tell you where.”
The Knesset’s top security officer filed a complaint Monday with the Israel Police on behalf of Yisrael Beytenu chief MK Avigdor Liberman after the former foreign minister received threats to his life on his Facebook page.
“You are our target,” read one message in Arabic, which was emblazoned on a photograph with a masked man holding a knife. “You murder is imminent, you son of a Jewish woman. We will carry out an attack similar to the one in Tel Aviv [on Friday] tomorrow or after tomorrow, but we won’t say where it will be.”
In another threatening message, the post read: “We will carry out more terrorist attacks and suicide attacks within the occupied territory of 1948 (Israel proper), we will stab you, we will avenge all of the martyrs. Either tomorrow or after tomorrow we will carry out two operations against the occupation.”
When contacted by Channel 2, a Liberman aide said in response: “He’s accustomed to threats, and he isn’t moved by them.”
