The Skverer community is celebrating the engagement of Shaul Spitzer, who was recently released from prison after serving a sentence for his involvement in the fire set to the home of Aharon Rottenberg on Truman Avenue in New Square.
Shaul, who is now 21 years old, got engaged on Wednesday to a daughter of Reb Avrohom Reitzenstein of Shikun Skver.
In October, Judge William Kelly granted Shaul youthful offender status and released him after serving 3 1/2 years in prison for the torching on May 22, 2011, when he was 18.
Shaul had faced a full seven-year prison term.
