DENVER — A young Jewish man in southeast Denver was angry and concerned this week after discovering that a swastika had been spray-painted on the tailgate of his pickup truck.
The man who requested to remain anonymous discovered the vandalism on Sunday night, Nov. 29, in the parking lot of the Hunter’s Run apartment complex near Quebec and Yale.
A swastika had been painted in silver on the tailgate of his Ford F-150 truck. No other messages or symbols were painted on the vehicle, the victim said, and so far as he knows no other vehicles in the parking lot were defaced.
The victim contacted Denver Police, the FBI and the ADL. “They just said they’d look into it,” he told the IJN this week, adding that this week’s incident was the first time that he has been targeted for what appears to be an act of anti-Semitic vandalism.
“We’re definitely changing some of the things we do,” the young man said this week when asked about increasing personal security after the incident. “The ADL recommended that we should be vigilant.”
