The National September 11 Memorial & Museum has organized a gathering at the 9/11 Memorial plaza to observe a moment of silence at 8:46am, the precise time the first airplane struck the world trade center.
According to the New York Post, the names of all 2,983 victims of the attack will be read aloud and broadcast on television.
Social media was awash Thursday with a positive image springing from the site of the World Trade Center – a rainbow that from one man’s angle, appeared to originate precisely from the site of the attack.
Since 2001, the site has become home to various memorials and museums marking the site of national tragedy.
