Rosie O’Donnell’s 17-year-old daughter Chelsea has been safely found after disappearing for a week, reps for the TV star said Tuesday.
The teen was last seen Aug. 11 in Nyack with her 6-month-old therapy dog Brown.
“Chelsea has been found and is safe in police custody,” O’Donnell tweeted. “Thank u all for the help and light #missingchildren.”
Three days before going missing, Chelsea — who was adopted in 1997 by O’Donnell and her first wife Kelli Carpenter — had reached out to her biological mother Deanna Micoley about possibly visiting her in Wisconsin, Radar Online reported earlier Tuesday.
“Rosie has said she wouldn’t be surprised if [Chelsea] came looking for me,” she continued. “She said that when I first talked to Rosie when Chelsea found me in November.”
It’s unclear where Chelsea was found but police said they were focusing their search on Rockland County.
O’Donnell’s post about her missing daughter, who suffers from a mental illness, went viral Tuesday.
“Chelsea stopped taking her medicine and is in need of medical attention,” said the post on the actress’ personal website.
A rep for the former “View” host said: “Rosie wants to thank everyone for their help, especially the South Nyack, NY and Barnegat Light, NJ police departments. Her daughter Chelsea O’Donnell has been located by the police and is safe in their custody.”
In March, Micoley told the National Enquirer that O’Donnell “stole” Chelsea away from her and claimed the adoption was bogus.
“I may not have been the best mother back then.
I did drugs and I have a criminal record because of it,” Micoley told the newspaper.
“But I surely didn’t deserve to have my baby stolen from me!”
