Yishai Schlissel, who stabbed six people during Jerusalem’s Gay Pride Parade last month, will be admitted to a psychiatric hospital for observation, Ch. 10 reported on Monday.
Schlissel is scheduled to appear before the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court Tuesday for a remand hearing.
During the hearing, the district psychiatrist is expected to say that a preliminary evaluation could not determine whether Schlissel is fit to stand trial and request an extended observation, which also includes him being admitted to a psychiatric institution.
Schlissel does not accept the legitimacy of the courts and has refused counsel.
One of Schlissel’s victims, 16-year-old Shira Banki, died from her injuries last week.
Schlissel, of Modi’in Ilit, was released from prison around a month ago, after serving a 10-year sentence for stabbing three people at Jerusalem’s 2005 pride parade.
