Over the past year, Monica Lewinsky has been making more public appearances than usual, and she showed up to the Tony Awards in New York City on Sunday night in a red lace dress.
Not everyone was a fan of the crimson frock, with some likening it to a bad prom dress with a matching clutch purse. She paired the look with gold heels.
The former White House intern is good friends with actor Alan Cumming, who co-hosted the evening’s festivities with Kristin Chenoweth.
Lewinsky, 41, gained notoriety for having an affair with President Bill Clinton in the mid-90s.
About a year ago, Lewisnky called out Beyonce for lyrics in her song “Partition. Lewinsky pointed out that the line “He popped all my buttons, and he ripped my blouse/He Monica Lewinsky-ed all on my gown” isn’t exactly accurate.
Lewinsky told Vanity Fair in May, 2014: “Thanks, Beyonce, but if we’re verbing, I think you meant ‘Bill Clinton’d all on my gown’, not ‘Monica Lewinsky’d.'”
In March 2015, she gave a TED talk about her time working in the White House and the negative effects of cyberbullying.
