Lebanon – Lebanese media reported on Tuesday that Israeli warplanes launched air strikes on targets in the country, a claim that Hezbollah later denied.
Local media reported that the Israeli air raids targeted areas near Brital in the country’s eastern border region.
It was not known if there were any casualties in the alleged Israeli raids.
The IDF would not confirm the strikes, stating that it does not respond to foreign reports.
Hezbollah-affiliated website al-Manardenied the reports, stating that there had been no attack against Hezbollah positions in the Bekaa Valley region or the Qalamoun mountains on the border with Syria.
Foreign media reports have attributed a number of airstrikes on the Syria-Lebanon border region to Israel over the past three years.
The IDF’s policy is not to respond to the reports, but senior Israeli officials have said repeatedly that they would not allow the Assad regime in Syria to deliver “game-changing” weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon.
