Plice arrested a Palestinian man Thursday on suspicion of attempted rape and aggravated assault against a 24-year-old woman in Jerusalem’s French Hill neighborhood.
The 21-year-old from the Shuafat refugee camp allegedly assaulted the woman, an employee of the German embassy, who lives in French Hill.
According to a report on the NRG news site, the woman was walking her dog Wednesday evening when the suspect allegedly approached her.
After she refused to speak with him, the man followed her, struck her on the head and tried to remove her clothing. The woman fought back and escaped, and reported the incident to police shortly thereafter.
Police searched the area and gathered intelligence that led to the suspect’s arrest.
The young woman was taken to the hospital for a medical examination
