Miami, FL – A 24-year-old Miami Beach man was arrested after he yelled Islamic expressions at and threatened a person in front of the Ohev Shalom Congregation.
Diego Chaar yelled an Islamic expression at a person in front of the building at 7055 Bonita Drive. A witness says the person ignored Chaar, who then yelled louder and made threats to “cut your head off,” reports NBC News 6
The victim then called 911 and the police with the help of the witness found Chaar hiding behind some cars near the congregation.
Chaar was let go, but not before the officers completed an incident report and forwarded that to detectives; however, after he was let go, Chaar started yelling and continued to threaten the victim.
Police say Chaar confessed to the crime then and he was arrested, but not officially charged with a hate crime.
