The Justice Department will charge Sen. Robert Menendez of New Jersey with corruption, CNN reports.
According to CNN, the Democrat accepted gifts in exchange for pushing the business interests of a donor and friend.
The investigation is focusing on Salomon Melgen, a Florida ophthalmologist who took Menendez on several trips to the Dominican Republic in 2010.
Charges could be brought within weeks, according to published reports.
